Journey to the West English version pdf, epub, txt download

Journey to the West is one of the Four Great Classical Novels of Chinese literature, written by Wu Cheng'en.

It tells the story of the monk Tang Sanzang, sent by the Tang emperor Taizong (Li Shimin) from China to India in search of the Buddhist scriptures, escorted by his three disciples — Sun Wukong, Zhu Bajie and Sha Wujing.

It is far more than a work of fantasy and adventure: it is a richly symbolic canvas that interweaves Daoism, Buddhism and Confucianism and offers a panoramic view of traditional Chinese thought and culture. It has since been adapted countless times for opera, film, television and games, and its influence has spread far beyond China.

So that readers around the world can enjoy this classic, we have translated the English version and made it available for download in PDF, EPUB and TXT formats.
