17 Fire Cloud Cave

After leaving Wuji Country, the Tang Monk and his disciples traveled by day and rested by night, and before they knew it more than half a month had passed. One day they came to a mountain and suddenly saw a red cloud rise from a mountain hollow to the ninefold heaven and gather into a mass of fire. Wukong was greatly alarmed. He hastily pushed the Tang Monk off his horse and cried, "A demon is coming! Do not go forward!" The three disciples surrounded the Tang Monk protectively.
