17 Fire Cloud Cave

The Bodhisattva dipped the willow branch in sweet dew and sprinkled it, crying, "Join!" Red Boy dropped his spear; his hands pressed together at his chest and could no longer be separated. Only then did Red Boy know the Bodhisattva's dharma power was profound, and he kowtowed. The Bodhisattva recited a true spell, turned the pure vase upside down, and withdrew the seawater. She said to Wukong, "This demon is already subdued, but his wild nature is unsteady. I will make him bow once with every step all the way to Mount Potalaka. Go quickly and save your master!" Wukong thanked the Bodhisattva, found Sandy in the forest, and the two raised their weapons and broke into the cave, exterminating the horde of demons, untying the leather bag, and releasing Bajie. Bajie said, "Brother Monkey, where is the demon? Let me rake him a few times to vent my anger!" Wukong said, "Let's find Master first." Searching in the rear, they saw the Tang Monk tied up in the courtyard, weeping. Sandy hastily untied the ropes, and the three knelt and said, "Master has suffered." They told the whole story of the Bodhisattva subduing Red Boy. The Tang Monk listened and hastily knelt and bowed toward the south. Sandy found some grain in the cave, prepared a vegetarian meal, and served his master. After eating, the master and disciples left the cave, mounted the horse, found the main road, and went westward.
