14 Wave Moon Cave

When Bajie finished listening, he said, "Since things have come to this, you go down to the sea and be a dragon king, and Old Pig will return to Gao Village to be a son-in-law." Hearing this, the white dragon horse bit his sleeve in alarm and said with tears in his eyes, "Second Brother, do not be lazy! Hurry to Flower-Fruit Mountain and bring back Eldest Brother; then we can save Master." Bajie said, "Brother, you don't know. On White Tiger Ridge, I urged Master to recite the band-tightening spell. I'm afraid that monkey is still angry with me. His club is heavy, and I'm afraid of being beaten." The little white dragon said, "Eldest Brother is a loyal and righteous monkey king; he will never beat you. Go quickly and invite him!" Bajie said, "Very well, since you are so devoted, if I do not go, it will show I am not devoted." He had no choice but to leap onto a cloud and head straight east. Bajie crossed the Eastern Ocean and came to Flower-Fruit Mountain, where he saw Wukong sitting on a stone cliff with more than a thousand monkeys bowing before him. Bajie envied him greatly. He slipped into the monkey crowd and also kowtowed to Wukong. Wukong's eyes were sharp, and he recognized Bajie at a glance. He called, "Where does this outsider come from? Little ones, bring him up!" The little monkeys swarmed forward and pushed Bajie before Wukong. Bajie hurriedly said, "Not an outsider, an acquaintance!" Wukong smiled and said, "Why don't you go protect the Tang Monk on his quest for the scriptures? What have you come here for?" Bajie said, "Brother Monkey, Master misses you and asked me to invite you back." Wukong said, "Tell me the truth. Where has Master run into trouble?" Bajie said, "Brother Monkey, there's no trouble; he truly misses you." Wukong cursed, "You fool, Master meets trouble at every step and disaster at every turn. You'd better tell me quickly, or you'll get a beating!" Bajie saw he could not hide it and told how the Yellow-Robe Demon had framed the Tang Monk and turned him into a tiger spirit, asking Wukong to come to the rescue. Wukong said, "Fool, when we parted I warned you again and again: if you met a demon, say that Old Sun is the master's eldest disciple. Why didn't you say so?" Bajie had a sudden idea and answered, "Brother Monkey, I said to the Yellow-Robe Demon: 'My eldest brother is Sun Wukong; if you anger him, he'll see that you die without a burial place!' Who would have thought the Yellow-Robe Demon cursed, 'What Sun Wukong? If he dares come, I'll flay his skin, tear his sinews, gnaw his bones, and eat his heart!'" When Wukong heard these words, he scratched his ears and cheeks in fury and leaped about like thunder, shouting, "How dare the demon curse me like this! I'll go meet him right now!" Wukong immediately removed his armor, put on his tiger-skin skirt again, took his golden-hooped rod in hand, ordered the monkeys to guard Flower-Fruit Mountain well, and rode a cloud westward with Bajie. When the two reached Wave-Moon Cave, each wielded his weapon and charged into the cave. In a short while, they exterminated all the lesser demons and rescued the princess and Sandy. When Sandy saw Wukong, he was overjoyed and saluted, saying, "Eldest Brother, you have truly descended from heaven!" Wukong smiled and said, "There is no time to lose. You and Bajie hurry to the Kingdom of Baoxiang and lure the Yellow-Robe Demon back to the cave. Old Sun has a clever plan." The two received the order and rode off on clouds. Wukong told the princess to hide in a quiet place, while he himself transformed into the princess's likeness and waited in the cave for the Yellow-Robe Demon. Meanwhile, Bajie and Sandy hurried back to the Kingdom of Baoxiang and came outside the Silver Peace Hall, shouting, "Yellow-Robe Demon, your demon cave has been razed by us!"
